On 25th February 2022, it was a pleasure to welcome Her Excellency the Ambassador of Georgia Sophie Katsarava MBE, accompanied by the Defence Attaché, General Malkhaz Makaradze and members of the embassy staff.  General Makaradze had already recently visited the Institute and following talks with Her Excellency the Ambassador, she also requested a visit.

Her Excellency’s visit had a dual purpose; to visit the Institute generally and to look at documents held in the Institute’s collections pertaining to Polish / Georgian relations and Georgians who served in the Polish Armed Forces after Georgia was forcibly annexed by the Soviet Union in 1922.  Members of the Polish Embassy were also present and the whole event was a great success.
