On the 10th December 2021 we were pleased to welcome the Georgian Defence Attaché, General Malkhaz Makaradze.  He was accompanied by members of the Polish Defence Attaché team, Colonel Tomasz Ferfecki, Colonel Robert Pawlicki and Warrant Officer Krzysztof Stolarczyk.

They were were shown around by an Institute volunteer Michał Olizar. General Makaradze showed great interest in the museum exhibits and was very grateful when the keeper of Archives, Dr Andrzej Suchcitz presented him with some photocopies of documentation pertaining to Georgian officers who served in the Polish Armed Forces from the early 1920s when Georgia lost her independence and was occupied by the Soviets.  During the Second World War some were unfortunately murdered by the Soviets in Karyn, others served in the 2nd Polish Corps in Italy and other in the 1st Polish Armoured Division.
