All our guests are important, but understandably some have special significance.  On the 25thOctober 2021, we were privileged to welcome, not for the first time, His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent.  He was greeted by Krzysztof Barbarski, the Institute’s Chairman, who accompanied the Duke to the Royal Room, where, on General Sikorski’s desk he signed the Institute’s Visitors Book.

His Royal Highness received the award of “Pro Tuitio Fidei Et Obsequium Pauperum”from The Association of The Polish Knights of Malta in the United Kingdom, on behalf of his wife, who unfortunately could not attend.  Flowers were also presented for the Duchess.

Those present were treated to a recital of the Prelude from J.S. Bach Suite No 1 in G Major by Martyna Jankowska, a Polish cellist, who after studying in Poznań and Frankfurt completed postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music London

The event was organised by Dr Marek Stella-Sawicki and The Association of The Polish Knights of Malta in the United Kingdom. A number of the Knights were also present.  Also attending was Ambassador Anna Maria Anders, the current Polish Ambassador to Italy and San Marino, daughter of General Władysław Anders. The Chargé d’Affairs Agnieszka Kowalska and other staff from the Polish Embassy in London and representatives of the Polish diaspora also attended.
